JOHN CRANSHAW

I spent my early years growing up on the beaches in Miami, Florida. At a very early age, I expressed an avid interest in art, photography and film. My family was surprisingly supportive and willingly indulged me in my creative world. With a strong support network of family and friends, I was able to explore all facets of my artistic interests and became very active in the Miami art scene.

Later, I studied Fine Art at the University of Miami and then relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana, to attend Tulane University.

New Orleans offered a brilliant cultural and social environment for me to continue refining my techniques and further exploring my interests in art. My intense passion for all things associated with art surged!

Then came my new family and life changed a bit.  Shortly after taking a high end healthcare job to take care of my young family and also pay the bills, I felt like I was denying the deep interest I had in art by only being a weekend painter.

I suppose you could call it an epiphany, but staring at a computer screen just wasn’t what I saw in my future. I decided it was now my time to make creating art my career and lifelong love.

Migrating north to Tennessee, I accepted the Executive Director position with the Tennessee Art League. I had a gallery in downtown Nashville within the Tennessee Art League and I also sponsored the pop-up gallery “Art Muz” in East Nashville.

During that same time, I launched my own art company 'Just Art by John' to showcase all my original artwork and to provide an artistic forum.

Over the years, my original works of art have been exhibited and sold in countless venues throughout the Southeast.  Utilizing the wide scope of the internet and capitalizing on social media, my original art became more visible and is now also in the hands private collectors worldwide.
